Happy New Years

First let me wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year. This year without a doubt going to be a highlight year for me with destination weddings which I only limit myself to 3 per year.

So here’s the highlight, a number of my photos taken last year in Ocho Rios Jamaica for Liza and Gbenga’s destination wedding will be featured in a US based bridal magazine call Munaluchi Bridal Magazine in their 2011 Winter Edition. So wow, of course I’m extremely excited and the coolest thing is I didn’t even apply to be on any sort of bridal magazine as they simply just found me over the internet, you gotta love the world wide web!

If you’re interested in a copy you can purchase them in Canada soon at Chapters or in the US at Barnes and Noble available January 25th, 2011 and at most international airports around the world. Or you can wait till I get my hands on the digital files and I’ll be sure to share them with you here.Okay let’s talk about the 2 destination weddings coming up this fall. Back in November last year I had a consultation with Elaine and Peter about their destination wedding at Saint Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands via the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas cruise ship this fall (photo above). We actually hooked up through a mutual couple who we both knew got married and Elaine and I were a part of that bridal party. Our meeting went well and few weeks later I got the good news in an email from Elaine telling me they would love to have me cover their wedding so I was pretty thrilled to be joining them in November aboard this magnificent ship!

Now around the same time when I had finalized with the first destination wedding my long time friend Ken who I knew for well over a decade now told me he was about to proposal to his girlfriend Mikage. So during his trip to Maui Hawaii over the holidays while I was in Mexico on my vacation I receive an email from Ken telling a bunch of us that he was now engaged. New Year’s had past and we were chatting on msn (Ken actually lives and works in Seattle now after graduating from University of Toronto) so we mostly communicate over msn and he was telling me he was looking for a wedding photographer. I guess he finally took a good look at my photos and for that reason I’ll be flying over to Seattle in September to enjoy Starbucks coffee while visiting the Space Needle and something else… oh right to take photos for his wedding also! Congratulations to Mikage and Ken!
